Paint Protection Film (Clear Bra)

The Ultimate Protection for Your Vehicle.

Paint protection film also know as PPF or Clear Bra is a relatively thick transparent or color layer of urethane that’s applied on top of the body panels to protect the paint underneath.
The material is very strong, flexible, chemically stable, and resistant to UV degradation. Applied on top of your vehicle, boat or surface so it becomes a second skin to body panels, protecting the paint against mechanical damage like minor scratches, dings, and paint chips, flying rocks, bird droppings, salt, sand as well as UV and chemical erosion and other elements that can deteriorate over the time the paint of your vehicle.

We carry different selections including Clear, Black, Matte and we offer different paint protection film packages such as bumpers only, full car, mirrors and many more.

Discover Self Healing PPF

Scratches, scuffs, and scrapes will accumulate in the Paint Protection Film, but they won’t stay for long. Paint protection films have a self-healing property.
Urethane is a thermoplastic polymer, which means it softens and becomes more malleable when heated. Applying heat to the film, it wants to reject the energy absorbed by the impact and return to a flat, uniform state. It hardens back to its regular strength when it cools, and you can cycle it indefinitely without changing the chemical structure.
It’s almost magical when you see how scratches and scuffs disappear in seconds after blasting the film with a heat gun. Depending on where you live, on a hot sunny day, the film will sort itself out, healing most impact zones and straightening out.
Still, you want to be realistic about paint protection film. It will like an invincible material, but it has its limits. Obviously, if you take a knife through the film, you will tear it apart and cut into the paint, ruining the whole panel in an instant.
Larger impacts can also make a dent in the body panel. As long as they don’t tear through the film, the paint should be spared, but you’ll have to make a visit to the body shop to straighten it out.

Frequently asked questions

Where Can I Apply Paint Protection Film?

You can apply these paint protective products to virtually any painted surface of your car. This includes the hood, the roof, and your fenders.
When you install PPF, you'll want to cover the high-impact areas like the front and rear fenders, the hood, side-view mirror housings, and your side panels. These areas are most susceptible to damage from road debris.
You can also cover your headlights with paint protection film, although some detailers might recommend against it.

Can I Wash My Car After Applying PPF?

You should absolutely continue to wash your car after PPF installation, but you'll have to keep a few key things in mind.
PPF takes about a week to fully adhere to your vehicle, so you'll want to wait at least that long before washing your car. If you don't you run the risk of ruining the application.
You should also avoid using abrasive cleaning chemicals. These can damage the paint protection film.
Hand-cleaning with a microfiber cloth is the preferred way to wash a car with a paint protection film, but you can also use a pressure washer. Just take extra care to avoid directing the spray at the edges of the film.

Does Paint Protection Film Fix Itself?

You may have heard PPF referred to as a "self-healing" film. If a scratch isn't deep enough to fully penetrate the film, it will return to its original state.
This happens at the microscopic level when the PPF is exposed to heat. Paint protection film has elastic qualities, and heat causes the particles that compose it to return to their lowest energy state. In the case of PPF products, it's flat and smooth.

How Long Does It Take?

Installation will vary. Much depends on the amount of coverage and the particular vehicle. It usually takes couple of hours to a full day, but small jobs can take just an hour. Large wraps can take few days.
